About Derek Houck

Described as the most intense short man ever seen, Derek Houck was born in Pontiac, MI. He spent his childhood all around the Mid-West living in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. After graduating high school, Derek headed to Los Angeles where he studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He currently trains at the Stephen Book Acting Workshop.

As a film actor, Derek starred as the title character in Polly Staffle Films’ Super Undead Doctor Roach, was the lead in the horror short Absent, appeared in the web series Cataclysmo and the Time Boys and its sequel Cataclysmo and the Battle For Earth, and became a zombie for the independent horror movie Silent Night, Zombie Night. Derek has also performed in theater all across Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange Counties, including Zombie Joe’s Underground’s premiere of Captain Dan Dixon vs. The Moth Sluts From the Fifth Dimension, the Orange and Ventura County premieres of Urinetown: The Musical, two productions of The Pirates of Penzance (one with Rex Smith and one with John Moschitta, Jr.), and the Los Angeles premiere of UG: The Caveman Musical.
